Our interview preparation program teaches a practical approach
to impressing during an interview. Countless candidates "blow
it" with unfocused, wandering answers that don't get to the
point or miss it all together. In a few simple steps we'll teach
you where to start your answer and why it is critical to scoring
points with the interviewer.
We focus on specific changes you can make to dramatically impact
your interview performance. A successful interview candidate
almost always has an accomplishment based resume. Spending time
to identify what you have accomplished is a key success driver.
Savvy candidates know to start their interview answers from a
few key examples from their resume. The interviewer will always
be looking to how well they candidate knows his resume. We'll
show you why your resume is hurting your chances.
Ideal for a talent management group looking to prepare their
high potential candidates, manager level and above, for upcoming
assessment centers and promotional opportunities.
For those of you interested in my background.
I
have been an executive search consultant since the early 80's.
During that time I have interviewed thousands of executives and
written countless executive resumes for client presentation in a
variety of industries. In addition, I have led change as a
professional consultant with a number of major corporations. In
one Fortune 500 company, I created an internal
corporate staffing function from scratch and personally
led staffing support for 1200 offices across 34 separate
business units. As an executive manager in this project, I was
personally responsible for executive selection and placement,
which include senior executive management positions up to
Division President and corporate level senior managers.
After
9-11, I took on a project to create a community outreach and
diversity program for a Fortune 25 company. I created a pipeline
of diverse candidates to meet the hiring needs of the company. I
also was able to create a working relationship with quite of few
government and service organizations whose mission it was/is to
reverse the shocking unemployment stats for persons with
disabilities. I also
co-produced a major family festival in the Tampa area with a
well known
Spanish language TV network.
Recently, I have been working as a consulting HR professional,
executive search consultant, resume writer, interview coach, and
writer/editor, and radio show host. I have worked on
D-V-P-C-MD level executive positions in 30 countries. I hold a number of
certifications including 360 Coach, Instructor Certification,
Media Training, etc.
My diversity and community outreach project was the root of a
popular diversity website
www.strategicdiversity.com which is published daily and is
read in 80 countries! I am also past Board Member and Treasurer
of WEET Nevada and currently a board member with The Sierra
Group Foundation. In 2011, I founded
Say Special Ability
Foundation. I am proud to say that creating opportunities to put
those with disabling conditions to work is a passion of mine.
As
for this workshop, I am planning to share my resume writing
skills with all of you, more about interview preparation, and a
guide I've written about behavioral interviewing. I have
presented it to more than 250 Recruiters, HR Professionals, HR
Consultants and Executives around the world for critical
review. Based on their expertise in behavioral interviewing, I
think I am on the right track.
I'll share it with you during these sessions.
I am pretty confident at this point that I am not going
to waste you time if you attend my sessions.
Generally, I think the format will be 2 one
hour sessions which will include a mock interview and my
detailed feedback and coaching on how to specifically
improve your answers. If you are a Director level candidate, I
will use a senior level structured interview guide. I
will ensure that this is a safe learning environment.
I am sure I can guide you in such a way that you feel more
prepared to try the job market and compete.
And
finally, why am I doing this?
I am shocked at how poorly resumes are written these
days. It is a skill, it can be learned, you can get good at it.
Also, I have seen GREAT candidates on paper ruin their chances
at the job of a lifetime because of how they act, what they say,
how they dress, sit and listen, etc etc.
Your
investment in this impactful coaching session includes a new resume, and two one hour coaching sessions.
